Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has congratulated the newly appointed Executive Director of Finance, South West Development Commission, Asiwaju Tele Ogunjobi and the Managing Director of the Commission, Dr. Charles Akinola describing the decision by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a clear affirmation of their outstanding qualifications and steadfast commitment to the progress of the Southwest region.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Hon. Kayode Akinmade, Governor Abiodun noted that Dr. Akinola—former Chief of Staff to ex-Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola—brings to the role a rich reservoir of experience and a proven record of visionary leadership, both of which are crucial to driving the Commission’s mandate and delivering tangible development outcomes across the region.
The governor also expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for entrusting Dr. Akinola with the leadership of the Commission.
“Dr. Akinola’s deep insight into the region’s unique challenges and vast opportunities positions him to lead the Commission effectively in promoting sustainable development, economic advancement, and social transformation,” Abiodun stated.
“Under his leadership, we expect to see groundbreaking initiatives that will strengthen infrastructure, attract strategic investments, and elevate the standard of living for our people.
“I equally commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his wise and deliberate choice in appointing Dr. Akinola to this critical position. It underscores his administration’s commitment to capable and transformative leadership that places the well-being of citizens at the heart of governance.
