Muslims have been implored to pray for peace, unity and socio-economic transformation of Ogun State and Nigeria as a whole.
The Executive Director of Finance, South West Development Commission, Asiwaju Tele Ogunjobi made the plea in his Eid-el Maulud message to the Muslim faithful.
He noted that the spiritual importance of Eid-el-Maulud cannot be underestimated, as it commemorates the birth of Prophet Muhammed
Ogunjobi who is the Waziri Musulumi of Ijebuland, stated that Eid-el-Maulud presents Muslims with a glorious opportunity to be closer to Allah in worship and to seek His face on diverse issues.
“I wish to heartily congratulate all my Muslim brothers and sisters on the occasion of the celebration of this year’s Eid el Maulud.
“We thank Almighty Allah for the opportunity granted to us to be counted among the living as we celebrate.
“This celebration provides us the unique opportunity to extend hands of fellowship and build trust amongst fellow humans.
“In order to realize this, we require peace, unity, stability and ethno-religious tolerance.” He stated.
The Waziri Musulumi pray for the grace to witness more joyous days in the future.
