I have painstakingly read and listened to many write-ups and short video clips circulating on social media about Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi. He is the current Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District and the leading APC governorship aspirant for the 2027 general election.<\/p>\n
In particular, I went through the publications of Wale Adedayo, Gateway Mouthpiece, Otito Oro Koro, Ogun People’s Forum, and watched the video clips of Adedeji Adetunji Akeem and Lady Funmilayo, amongst others.<\/p>\n
The common threads in their works are: the alleged questionable ancestry of Senator Adeola; the call to vote for an Ogun State indigene in 2027; the alleged bias of the APC leadership in Ogun State during the primaries; the alleged division among APC bigwigs; the claim of “transactional support” for Yayi; and the prediction by Wale Adedayo that APC will be defeated in Ogun State in 2027.<\/p>\n
As Ajiroba Dapo Oke rightly stated on his Facebook page: _\u201cThe reason some dissatisfied individuals are still disseminating unfounded information about Yayi is simply because he is contesting the Ogun State governorship election against their preferred candidate.\u201d_<\/p>\n
That statement aptly captures the motive behind these attacks.<\/p>\n
To any discerning mind, it is clear that most of these critics did not hide their preferred candidate. This reveals the masquerade behind the mask. All of them, without exception, have been promoting Hon. Ladi Adebutu, a factional governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, as an alternative to Yayi.<\/p>\n
It is therefore established that their works cannot be taken as objective analysis, but as politically motivated hatchet jobs to earn a pay and put food on their tables.<\/p>\n
In my previous articles, I emphatically stated that Senator Solomon Adeola Yayi undisputedly hails from Pahayi-Ishaga in Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun West. This is backed by convincing evidence, attestations from his family members, and confirmation from the traditional ruler of his hometown. This is further strengthened by the public declaration of His Royal Majesty, Oba Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, who referred to Senator Adeola as a bona fide son of Yewaland.<\/p>\n
In exercising his fundamental human rights, Yayi is constitutionally entitled to return to his birthplace to contest, especially to fight against the marginalization of the Yewa people regarding the Ogun State governorship seat.<\/p>\n
As Dapo Oke also noted: _\u201cI had the pleasure of meeting the esteemed Kabiyesi of Ishaga, who kindly informed me that it was he who initiated contact with Yayi when they became aware of his lineage connection to Ishaga, Yewa, and that not a single individual from Ishaga and Pahayi is against Yayi.\u201d_<\/p>\n
In view of these assertions, the question of Yayi’s birthplace should have been laid to rest. However, as the Yoruba adage says, \u201cNo one will admit that his enemy’s horse is taller than his own.\u201d<\/p>\n
Against this backdrop, I do not expect sponsored critics and content creators to see anything good in Senator Adeola-Yayi. They are working for their pay. Even so, they should apply caution and refrain from insulting our sensibilities by misrepresenting facts. They should not call a dog a bad name simply to execute a hatchet job.<\/p>\n
The critics also dwell on the need to vote for a gubernatorial candidate who hails from Ogun State. I absolutely agree, with the caveat that the most appropriate candidate is Senator Solomon Adeola, and not their preferred candidate.<\/p>\n
The reasons for the preference for Yayi are due to myriads and plethora of factors.
\n1. Yayi has a settled case of birth place in Ishaga-Yewa, in Yewa Ogun State. second,
\n2. Yayi is the most experienced among all the contestants , tested and trusted.
\n3. He is the most popular and acceptable to the majority of the electorate of Ogun State.
\n4. Political astute Ness of Yayi is the most profound, dexterous and sagacious.
\n5. He is the most resourceful, philanthropic, highly connected and influential.
\n6. He is the most visionary.
\n7. He is the most focused and directional.
\n8. He is the most charismatic with high degree of human relations.
\n9. He is the most cerebral with high premium of intellectual properties.
\n10. Yayi has touched lives of the people and their Communities more than any Gubernatorial Candidate in Ogun State through facilitation of projects and humongous personal supports to uncountable number of persons.
\n11. Above all, Yayi’s fear of God is unparalleled.<\/p>\n
It must also be stated that sentiment should not always determine who leads the state for the next four to eight years. Sterling qualities must be the benchmark for choosing the right candidate. This is where the sponsored critics got it wrong. Realizing the limitations of their preferred candidate, they have resorted to deceiving and brainwashing voters through a campaign of calumny, hate speeches and fabrications.<\/p>\n
Yayi remains the candidate to beat. There is no controversy about that. The opposition has realized the futility of their own candidate’s chances.<\/p>\n
Yayi is an indigene of Ishaga-Pahayi, and there is no question about that. It is absurd to conclude that one’s place of birth is determined by where one’s parents are buried. Many people are not buried in their places of origin.<\/p>\n
Many royal fathers have publicly affirmed that Yayi’s paternal lineage is from Yewaland and his maternal lineage from Kemta in Egbaland, and have thrown their full weight behind him. This was demonstrated when the Oba of Ado-Odo\/Ota clearly told Hon. Ladi Adebutu to wait for his turn.<\/p>\n
The critics also alleged bias by the APC leadership in Ogun State during the just-concluded primaries, claiming some aspirants were favoured. They are crying more than the bereaved, as party primaries are internal affairs. The APC in Ogun State, knowing the effects of contests, has embarked on tremendous reconciliation exercises, with Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun compensating many aspirants in various ways. Hands of fellowship have been extended, and reconciliation is ongoing. Any perceived hostility will soon fizzle out.<\/p>\n
A unique display of unity can be seen in the APC Ogun State Campaign Council, where Senator Gbenga Daniel and Senator Ibikunle Amosun, both former governors, feature prominently as Deputy Grand Patrons. To the chagrin of naysayers, social media was agog with pictures of Otunba Gbenga Daniel, Governor Dapo Abiodun and Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi together at the burial ceremony of OGD\u2019s in-law in Abeokuta. This shows that contests and politics are not seen as a source of perpetual conflict. The attempt to fan the embers of discord among APC chieftains will not succeed.<\/p>\n
While the APC house appears peaceful and cohesive, the main opposition, the PDP, cannot boast of the same. This brings to mind the Yoruba proverb: \u201cIt is easier to see the baldness on another person’s head than to see your own.\u201d The PDP leadership, which has failed to put its house in order, is busy pointing accusing fingers at others.<\/p>\n
The fabricated claims are attempts to cause division within the APC and to create imaginary rifts among our foremost stalwarts and leaders. They should tell their principal to paddle his own canoe and focus on solving his own insurmountable problems: insignificant electoral value, loss of political bigwigs to Yayi\u2019s camp, PDP factional crisis, low administrative capacity, structural disorganization, and personality issues among others.<\/p>\n
The APC is a structured movement with disciplined members. We are proud of the leadership from the national level down to the wards. We have an automated machinery for managing conflicts, and we are confident that all hands are on deck.<\/p>\n
The massive support Yayi is receiving was described by critics as “transactional.” This claim is incorrect, fallacious, and untenable. Even if Yayi had the transactional support of APC members, registered politicians constitute less than five percent of total voters.<\/p>\n
The earlier the critics realize that the unalloyed support for Yayi is not transactional but is based on concrete, visible, and tangible projects he facilitated, some with his personal funds, the better. His support comes from his welfare programs, philanthropy, and genuine concern for the less privileged, students, market men and women, artisans, commercial motorists, professionals, farmers, traditional councils, Baales, Olorituns, organized labour, pensioners, youth organizations, religious bodies, and tertiary institutions and so on.<\/p>\n
These groups are not myopic. They are opinion molders of the larger society. They do not give in to mundane sentiments like birthplace, origin, or religion. They know these factors cause division and should not be benchmarks for good governance. Therefore, the attempt to dissuade them has failed and is dead on arrival – Brought In Dead (BID).<\/p>\n
To say their support is transactional is denigrating, insulting, and psychologically damaging. Not everyone sells their future for a pot of porridge.<\/p>\n
Scornfully, I laughed when I read the prediction of my dear brother, Wale Adedayo aka Babalawo wherein he claimed that APC Ogun state would be defeated in 2027 elections.
\nThough, I know him as theartric Babalawo, nevertheless, I can fault his fake prediction because I know for sure and believe strongly in the Latin maxim that says, ” vox populi, vox dei” meaning that the voice of the People is the voice of God, the Ogun State People and the electorate shall speak loudly with their votes come 2027.<\/p>\n
Beyond that revelation, all indices available to our research team assure us that victory is certain. Yayi shall occupy the Oke-Mosan office as Governor, while Prince Dapo Abiodun shall take his seat at the Red Chamber as a Distinguished Senator for Ogun East, in the mighty name of Jesus. All other APC candidates shall also coast to victory.<\/p>\n
For it is only APC that can Renew Our Hope. Vote massively for all APC candidates and stand to defend your votes. Make sure your vote counts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
