Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth wing in Ogun State on Tuesday staged a solidarity walk in Ijebu Ode in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Dapo Abiodun.<\/p>\n
The peaceful procession, which attracted a large turnout of party supporters from across the state, began at the Otunba Dipo Dina Stadium and moved through major streets of the town. Participants displayed banners, placards and party flags, chanting solidarity songs in endorsement of President Tinubu\u2019s Renewed Hope Agenda and Governor Abiodun\u2019s developmental programmes in Ogun State.<\/p>\n
Speaking to journalists, the National President of the APC Youth League, Comrade Olamide Lawal, described February 11 as a symbolic date in the political history of the state. He recalled that supporters of Governor Abiodun were allegedly attacked at the same venue in 2019 but noted that the governor went on to win the election.<\/p>\n
\u201cSince 2020, we have continued to mark this day with empowerment programmes and freedom walks. Despite all odds, Governor Dapo Abiodun emerged victorious in 2019 and again in 2023,\u201d Lawal said.<\/p>\n
According to him, the solidarity walk was organised to express appreciation for what he described as the impressive performance of both leaders.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor a leader who has done so much, Ogun youths must show genuine love and unwavering support for President Tinubu and Governor Abiodun. We will continue to mobilise and sensitise our youths about the achievements of the government. The confidence you see today is based on performance,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
The Gateway State Coordinator of the APC Youth League, Fayomi Yunus, said the exercise was meant to reaffirm the loyalty of Ogun youths to the party\u2019s leadership at both state and federal levels.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe stand firmly behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Dapo Abiodun. We believe in their vision and are committed to supporting policies that will move our state and nation forward,\u201d Yunus stated.<\/p>\n
Also speaking, the National President of the National Association of Ogun State Students, Comrade Oluwafemi Ajayi, commended ongoing federal reforms and the state government\u2019s focus on infrastructure, youth empowerment and economic development.<\/p>\n
